Seven of the fired #SABC8 journalists returned to work after the public broadcaster did an about turn on it’s intentions to challenge the labour court judgment that found their axing unlawful.

Seasoned journalists Lukhanyo Calata based in Cape Town, Thandeka Gqubule, Busisiwe Ntuli, Foeta Krige, Jacques Steenkamp and Suna Venter were fired for seeking clarity from the SABC on it’s recent editorial decisions including NOT showing violent protests and canning of Editors on @SAfmRadio.

It remains to be seen if the public broadcaster will broadcast visualsof violent protests.

Now you might be asking yourself, what happened to the 8th journalist, Vuyo Mvoko who unlike the rest, had a freelance contract.

Mvoko posted on his Facebook page that the SABC was only prepared to reinstate if if he withdraw the public statements he made about censorship at the broadcaster.

Mvoko’s court application will be heard next Tuesday.
