After 22 years at the helm of the City of Johannesburg, the ANC has lost its homeground, where its headquarters Luthuli House is to the main opposition the Democratic Alliance. Thanks to the EFF and other opposition parties, Businessman Herman Mashaba who joined the DA two years ago is now the new mayor of the City of Johannesburg. Who would have thought!

Some corners of society believe Parks Tau became a victim of the ANC’s general decline going to as far as blaming party Mr Zuma and his Nkandla, and that he was actually delivering services for Joburgers and should have remained the Mayor.

Journalist Ranjani Munusamy urged her followers to spare a thought for the City of

She was NOT the only one feeling sorry for Parks. Mzwandile Masina who is in the running for the eKurhuleni Mayoral position under the ANC felt that voters were unfair to Tau.

In a press briefing following the Elections, the ANC Secretary General General Gwede Mantashe said the party was taking collective responsibility for the party’s poor performance at the polls.

The DA seems to know what went wrong in the ANC’s dabbing campaign.

The ANC which for years enjoyed political monopoly has now lost Nelson Mandela Bay, named after the party’s struggle stalwart and the first president of democractic South Africa, the Capital of South Africa Tshwane, the Economic hub of the country Johannesburg and the City of Cape where parliament is to the DA.
