Thousands of Americans have taken to the streets in a march against President-elect Donald Trump. Trump who was running as a Republican won the 2016 US elections on Wednesday by getting 279 of the 270 votes needed.

Protestors holding placards reading #NOT our President marched in 11 cities from New York, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia to Washington DC and others

Although the marches have been largely peaceful there have been reports of violence in some cities

Why are some Americans protesting against Trump?

Part of his 100 days in office plan Trump will;

1. Begin removing the more than 2 million criminal illegal immigrants from the US

2. Suspend immigration from terror-prone regions where vetting cannot safely occur

Donald Trump’s victory over seasoned politician Hillary Clinton was met with shock across the globe. But it looks like Americans themselves can’t believe they voted for Trump.
