In a series of tweets on [Black]Monday night, government called on South Africans to NOT participate in a planned nationwide shutdown on Friday the 7th of April. There is a social media campaign, the day SA came to a Stand still, which calling on all South Africans to down tools and head to the streets.

There are number of messages floating on different social media platforms and on messaging application WhatsApp advising people to stay away on Friday.

But who called for the shutdown?

Oh just so you know, this is what the Constitution of the Republic, which is the supreme law says on protests in South Africa;

Everyone has the right, peacefully and unarmed, to assemble, to demonstrate, to picket and to present petitions.
